Carquinez Strait Integrated Community Waterfront Landscape Plan
Planning/Design
The project site is currently an abandoned area held by the California State Lands Commission (CSLC) and informally adopted by the Recover the Waterfront group. The park, along with its sole access road, is designed to incorporate native plants within bioswales and rain gardens, a parking lot with permeable pavers, native tree planting, a small beach, and freshwater wetland.
This waterfront will provide a common use space for activities such as picnics, relaxation, community gatherings, and recreation staging, and connections to preexisting infrastructure including open space, the Bay Trail route, the Carquinez Strait waterway, the Carquinez Bridge bike path, and Carquinez Trail loop.
