China Gulch Stream Crossing Improvement Project

Completed
After high flows in mid January 2016, this site experienced minor erosion of roadfill at the outlet from overtopping. Although the crossing was designed for such overtopping events, due to erosion at the outlet and the likelihood of this occurring as often as annually, concrete sill work was identified as the best long term fix. This crossing was originally funded in 2013 by the Trinity River Restoration Project to replace a 30” mining culvert which partially washed out in most minor events.
