Evans Creek Fish Passage Project

Planning/Design
Evans Creek is in the Pescadero watershed in Portola Redwoods State Park. Three barriers block fish movement: a steep 103 foot long road culvert, a 13-ft tall concrete dam, and a large natural logjam on Peters Creek downstream of the confluence with Evans Creek. Designs to restore fish migration have been produced through funding by USFWS Coastal Program, the California Coastal Conservancy, and California State Parks. The project will reopen more than 9 miles of creek habitat for steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch).
