CARCD WCB Climate and Wildlife Project: Mare Island Monarch and Pollinator Pathways

Implementation
Mare Island is home to the only remaining site in Solano County that is still utilized by overwintering monarch butterflies. This project seeks to form a grassroots movement to educate and enable homeowners to add monarch habitat "waystations" to their yards to support monarchs in the winter and pollinators throughout the year. Additionally, we hope to work with the City of Vallejo to properly manage and enhance the grove of roosting trees at Chapel Park with new trees to replace those that have declined or been removed in the past.
