Crane Valley Meadow Restoration
Project Overview
Basics
Planning/Design
Crane Valley Meadows sits at the confluence of Balasm Creek and Big Kimshew Creek, headwater tributaries of the West Branch Feather River. This meadow is degraded, likely due to historic overgrazing and incision from past roads and trails. The goals of this project are to restore hydrologic function; increase availability and quality of water; increase resilience to climate change, wildfires, and drought; improve habitat for wildlife; and increase carbon storage.
