Forest Health
In October 2017 the Redwood Complex Fire burned over 36,000 acres of Mendocino County’s landscape in Redwood and Potter Valleys. To aid in both forest and community post-fir recovery the South Ukiah Rotary Club (Rotary) put in a speculative seedling order of 45,000 Douglas-fir and 5,000 ponderosa pine seedlings.
Rotary entered into a general service agreement with Mendocino County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD) to carry out the oversight of the delivery and distribution of this speculative order to landowners, residents, and land managers to aid in reforestation activities. Seedlings were delivered in January 2019.
