The Feather River Resource Conservation District, working together with the Plumas National Forest, are proposing community wildfire protection and forest resilience treatments on approximately 9,000 acres of the Plumas National Forest around the community of Quincy in Plumas County, California. All of the project area falls within the wildland urban interface (WUI), broken up into 6,516 acres of WUI Defense Zone, 2,407 acres of WUI Threat Zone, and 64 acres of WUI Urban Core. The project surrounds several pieces of critical infrastructure including Feather River College, Mt. Hough Ranger Station, American Valley Airport, transmission lines, and recreational trail systems.
