Wildlife Habitat Improvement
Invertebrate (Insect, Crustacean) Habitat Restoration
The Contra Costa RCD is working with landowners and land managers to plan and implement monarch habitat projects (e.g., hedgerows, gardens, habitat restorations) throughout Contra Costa County. By the end of the grant term, projects will have been implemented on at least 10 working lands sites (e.g., farms, ranches, water districts) and 10 public/other lands sites (e.g., parks, schools). We will maintain and monitor sites at least annually and will report monarch numbers to the Western Monarch Milkweed Mapper. We will serve a facilitation role for the East Bay Monarch Work Group and promote pollinator conservation through outreach via CCRCD.org, emails, presentations, and tabling at events.
