Forest Management Wildfire Mitigation
The project plans are to address the overarching effects of the Caldor Fire by performing the following actions: 1) outreach and education to NIPF owners regarding restoration opportunities, 2) site assessment of fire damaged NIPFs, 3) preparation of management plans and reforestation prescriptions of private land, 4) fuel reduction activities including the removal of dead trees not utilized for salvage and other debris created by the fire and disposal through appropriate means, 5)additional site prep as needed to ready the properties for planting, 6) planting with species appropriate to the sites, and 7) monitoring planting to assess survival and filing of post-project stocking reports.
