This project supports the Todd’s Valley Miwok-Maidu Cultural Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the Colfax/Todd’s Valley Consolidated Tribe in cultivating, propagating, and distributing native and endemic plants for cultural and ecological restoration. By contributing resources for habitat restoration, the project helps the Tribe sustain practices central to their traditions—such as sustenance, medicine, ceremonial activities, and cultural crafts.
Wildlife Habitat Improvement Invertebrate (Insect, Crustacean) Habitat Restoration
The Todd’s Valley Miwok Maidu Cultural Foundation (TVMMCF) proposes to sponsor a cultural restoration project that will use traditional ecological knowledge and indigenous management practices and philosophies to develop a management model that can be replicated and scaled to larger property acreage for the purpose of cultivating, propagating, and distributing native and endemic plants used for sustenance, medicine, ceremony, and cultural crafts.
