Direct Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
This farm services local areas that have low income communities. The farm also provides fresh produce to a local school, which is a direct benefit for those students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Indirect Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
The CFP identified many practices that will improve water holding capacity, infiltration and climate resilience. This will help mitigate the effects of drought, flooding and other climatic events. Climate resilience will improve the chances that food will remain available with unprecedented climatic change on the horizon.
Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Carbon Farm Planning & Implementation
A Carbon Farm Plan and a Soil Health Management Plan were written for a small no-till row crop operation. This is a 4.5 acre vegetable farm in McKinleyville, CA.

Proposed practices include cover crops and crop rotation, and funding for implementation will potentially come from both WCB (for pollinator beneficial cover crops) and RCPP for other soil health beneficial practices.
