Direct Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
Local indigenous tribes have been asked to assist the District and its partners with planning, design and community education activities. (Although they are not federally recognized, these tribes can have State status.)
Indirect Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
Members of disadvantaged communities living within the Los Gatos Watershed will be provided access to public education opportunities associated with the project.
Watershed Restoration Riparian Habitat Restoration
This project is designed to increase the scale and pace of ecological restoration in the Los Gatos Creek Watershed. North Santa Clara RCD (Formerly GCRCD), through a core partnership with San Jose Water (SJW), and South Bay Clean Creeks Coalition (SBCCC), is using funding to support restoration of streams, floodplains, and tributaries of the Los Gatos Creek Watershed.
