Forest Management
Forest Health
A core goal of SFLAP is to promote ecosystem resilience in a fire-prone landscape. The project addresses the vast amount of wildland urban interface that has been crippled with decades of unregulated fuels growth and/or complete devastation from the Camp Fire (2018) and North Complex Fire (2020). The forest management practices provided by SFLAP are tailored to improving ecological integrity in the region’s oak-woodland systems which thrive when stand densities are low and low-intensity fire is a regular component of management.
