Carbon Farm Planning & Implementation
IERCD will partner with the Carbon Cycle Institute and NRCS Soil Scientists to assist Highland Springs Ranch and 123 Farms in the development of a Carbon Farm Plan to increase carbon sequestration potential and overall soil health on the site. Additionally, this project will help Highland Springs in its mission to partner with Fibershed and become a source of climate-beneficial wool.
This project is IERCD's first Carbon Farm plan and will serve as a useful initial study in how carbon farming practices can be applied to the arid landscape and relatively hot, dry soils characteristic of this region.
