Water Management and Conservation
Water Storage and Coordinated Water Management
This project is to develop a water conservation/off-channel storage to reduce the impact of water diversion on Dutch Bill Creek during the summer/fall dry season. Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds has two water rights on a tributary of Dutch Bill Creek under which they divert water for irrigation and potable uses. The aim of the project will be to offset this dry season diversion with water stored during the winter rainy season. It is expected to reduce overall diversion by 90%, from an average of 2.8 million gallons per May-October dry season to 300,000 gallons. This is also expected to increase dry season flows in Dutch Bill Creek by at least 0.05 cubic feet per second (cfs) for Coho.
