Carbon Farm Planning & Implementation
The San Mateo RCD, in collaboration with NRCS and Point Blue Conservation Science, with guidance from Jeff Creque of the Carbon Cycle Institute, developed a Carbon Farm Plan for TomKat Ranch in Pescadero, CA. This plan lays out a path forward to enhance carbon capture on the ranch, consistent with their existing management plans. With the goal of promoting sustainable food systems and becoming a carbon sink, the plan looks at resource management concerns and opportunities while suggesting carbon-beneficial practices and potential outcomes.
