Project Themes

Project Themes

This project improved a 400 ft culvert under Interstate 80 along Pinole Creek by installing a fish ladder to provide areas to rest for fish trying to swim upstream to spawn. This project primarily targeted the Federally Threatened Steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and opened a number of otherwise unreachable spawning habitats.
The Pinole Fish Passage Improvement project hopes to improve a man-made barrier and allow for greater fish intrusion into the Pinole Creek Watershed, thereby creating species diversity and watershed health.
