SLEWS- Citrus Valley High School at Highland Springs Resort
Completed
Student Landowners Education Watershed Stewardship (SLEWS) Programming took place at two locations during the 2015-16 school year. The first program was held at Highland Springs Resort. The property houses an organic farm and a science camp for kids. This site is already taking part in NRCS Conservation Practices.
Students from Citrus Valley High School will assisted with one such conservation practice during their visit, seeding a ~3 Acre slope to prevent erosion. In addition, students built and installed bird boxes and performed baseline monitoring.
