Soil Health Assessments
North Coast Soil Hub soil health assessments

Implementation
With Gold Ridge, Sonoma, and project lead-Napa Co RCD, Mendocino Co. RCD is conducting soil health assessments at vineyards throughout the county. Vineyard soils are sampled and analyzed for a suite of soil health characteristics. These assessments establish baseline numbers, and some sites are monitored as part of three field trials. Results will be compiled to create a North Coast vineyard database which will provide a reference for typical ranges for these characteristics.
Additionally, we are organizing two workshops on soil health topics and sharing soil health-related information through quarterly newsletters and the North Coast Soil Hub website.
