Bella Vista Siphon Removal Fish Passage Project

Post-Implementation
Western Shasta RCD, with grant funding from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), successfully removed Bella Vista Water District's pipe crossing across North (aka Little) Cow Creek to restore unimpeded fish passage for chinook Salmon and Steelhead. The project is located directly downstream of the Swede Creek Road Bridge over North Cow Creek in Palo Cedro, CA. This fisheries restoration project demolished and removed the concrete-encased pipe from North Cow Creek, as the structure was no longer needed by Bella Vista Water District. The project is funded by CDFW's Proposition 1 Restoration Grant Program.
