City of Shasta Lake Section B-West Fuelbreak
Project Overview
Basics
Completed
Western Shasta RCD was awarded a grant to construct a 20 acre, 200 ft. wide shaded fuelbreak on the northern edge of the City of Shasta Lake. This was one of a series of fuelbreaks, funded through several different grants, that were constructed to protect communities in and around the City of Shasta Lake. Methods of treatment for this project included wood chipping, pile burning, and using goat browsing for vegetation control.
