Implementation
The goals of this project are to enhance monarch butterfly breeding habitat on US Army Garrison Fort Hunter-Liggett (FHL) in Monterey County and to increase seed supply of local pollinator-beneficial plant species for restoration on FHL and nearby areas. Specific activities include invasive tumble mustard (Sisymbrium altissimum) control (hand pulling) on approximately 5 acres of milkweed habitat; collecting, propagating, and planting woollypod and narrowleaf milkweed; collecting California buckwheat and nodding needlegrass seed for amplification for restoration projects,
