Post-Implementation
The 50-acre Gaede Homestead was destroyed in the 2022 Fork Fire. CRCD hosted a Community Service Day where volunteers accomplished all necessary prep work to remove burned vegetation and install solarization plastic in this 5000 square foot site. The property owners worked alongside CRCD to plant a Xerces Society wildflower habitat kit comprised of 590 native forbs, grasses, and wildflowers , and a Xerces hedgerow kit, comprised of 90 native grass, bush, and tree species. Pesticides were not used in the project site. This habitat will aid in improving biodiversity as it spreads its seeds throughout the burn scar.
