Direct Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
The Bonsall project and the Fallbrook project are not located in identified Disadvantaged Communities according to the Census Tract Income (ACS: 2016-2020)
Indirect Benefits to Disadvantaged Communities (DACs)
Introducing carbon farming methods to local growers will further climate mitigation goals, including improving wildfire/drought preparation and resilience for underserved members of the community.
Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Carbon Farm Planning & Implementation
Mission RCD will work with local growers, including those on Tribal lands, to further develop carbon farming planning in the region. We plan to support carbon farm plans with pollinator habitat and using native plants for beneficial cover crops, hedgerows, and/or windbreaks on ten different groves/farms/vineyards.
