Mill Creek Barrier Removal and Riparian Restoration Project in Talmage – P1696025

Post-Implementation
This project removed and replaced an existing culverted stream crossing that was a barrier to fish passage to provide fish access to 7.5 miles of upstream salmonid spawning and rearing habitat in Mill Creek (Talmage), Russian River. The project was engineered and design plans were permitted with funds provided by the Caltrans Geyserville Bridge Mitigation Fund and CDFW's Fisheries Restoration Grant Program. Project implementation removed the undersized culvert barrier, stream crossing fill, two large concrete aprons, and additional concrete rubble from the stream channel. An engineered 55-foot long free span bridge was installed according to existing design plans at the site.
