Carbon Farm Plan #11 (Beef Cattle)

Implementation
This 145-acre farm is located in northwest Marin County on a peninsula of land defined by an oxbow of Stemple Creek. Pastures are used primarily for rotationally-grazed, grass-fed beef production, in addition to other enterprises such as a small vegetable farm. The landowner’s goals through this CFP include: keeping the farm within the family; continuing to learn and improve land management practices; integrating trees into the pasture system; increasing plant and animal biodiversity on the farm; and, maintaining or improving carbon sequestration.

No accomplishments to report for:
Year(s): 2017-2018
Explanation: Guido started implementing practices in 2017-2018, but I do not know where that data is. The 2019 project is the SCC Carbon Water grant. In 2020, I think Guido is implementing more practices with CDFA, but I (Elise) don't know what it is and when it will be implemented.

Carbon Farm Plans quantify the difference one farm can make by implementing a suite of carbon-beneficial practices that remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and into the farm's soils and plant biomass.
Practice implementation will improve soils, water, air, plants and animals in the watersheds.
A Carbon Farm Plan provides a farm with a future vision and path to increase farm fertility, productivity and resiliency.
